Q:    How does the Lawyer's Referral Service Work?

A:    Call 831.582.3600, leave your telephone number and a brief description of your legal problem.  The LRS representative will interview you over the phone and after which you will be given the name, address and telephone number of a Monterey County attorney in your area with legal knowledge about your problem. You then call the attorney to arrange an appointment at  your convenience.

Q:    Do I have to retain the services of  the attorney to whom I am referred?

A:   No. You may use LRS for additional references if you do not retain the services of an attorney after your first consultation.

Q:    What does it cost?

    A.    You pay a non-refundable $40.00 administrative fee prior to receiving a referral. The fee provides a thirty-minute consultation. Options for payment are: Credit Card, Money Order, or Cashier's Check.

Q:    Why should I use the Monterey County Bar Association's lawyer's referral service?

    A.    For your $40.00 you can meet with a Monterey County attorney who has special skills in your area of interest.
